How is a Tulsa child's Oklahoma tax credit figured?

Take your tier's ceiling and the school's net bill (tuition and fees minus whatever the school itself knocks off); the smaller of the two is the credit.

OkTAP looks at both parents' federal AGI from two tax years back. If the applying parent is enrolled in SNAP, TANF or SoonerCare/SoonerSelect, the household is placed in the $7,500 tier.

Does a high schooler get more than a first grader?

No. A senior and a 4-year-old in pre-K are treated alike; only household income and what the school charges move the number.

Is approval guaranteed once I apply?

No. The program runs under an annual cap and reviews priority filers first, then everyone else in order, so filing early in the window helps.

For 2026-27 the Tax Commission reported $277,326,263 authorized and $264,788,333 approved across 41,466 students as of September 3, 2026.
